This show has a national reputation.
It's one of the best in the country.
And to be here for the first year is a huge honor.
I am from Phoenix.
Originally from Zimbabwe.
I journeyed from France.
But I've been living in Monterey, CA for 21 years.
I'm very happy to be with this community and to work and share my expertise in what I love most.
To do and carve and find life out of stone.
It is a great show and Des Moines is so supportive of the arts.
That's why people come from New Mexico and Florida and everywhere.
It's a very competitive show to get into.
It's a class act.
This festival is one of the top festivals in the country for a reason.
Everything they do is focused on the arts.
And ultimately it's great to see the people of Des Moines.
See people out and about interacting with original art work.
Everything is great about this festival.
It's nice to be home and share my work.
Pretty much done.
That's all I got.
It's fascinating.
When you travel around the globe, you see artwork everywhere.
And Des Moines and Iowa in general has been exploding with supporting the arts.
The Iowa Arts Council has done a great job.
If you go to Dubuque They have a huge mural project.
Creston has a huge mural project.
The Des Moines metro.
Everywhere you go there's a huge support for the arts.
People are so excited to be out and about.
Being together, and talking to people.
It's a good vibe.
People are really excited to be back and seeing each other.
And interacting and talking.
And the best part of this is the connection.
And man, if feels really good to be back to doing that.
